Your DFW Home Foundation is in Good Hands With Atlas Experts
In DFW, foundation repair may be needed when your home foundation shifts, settles or moves in some other way that causes stress to your foundation. This may be a major cause of concern, especially if you notice cracks in foundation walls or other places in your house.
Have your foundation assessed by an expert manager or even an owner of Atlas Foundation Company, Inc., by simply making a phone call. Our family owned business has been providing DFW foundation repair since 1958, serving Tarrant County Texas, including Fort Worth, Arlington, Grand Prairie, Mansfield and other surrounding area towns.
DFW home foundations are especially susceptible to shifting ground. You can trust Atlas to do whatever it takes to make your house foundation right again. Some damage can be strictly cosmetic and doesn't interfere with the foundation's load bearing capacity. These cosmetic items could be cracks in floor tiles, cracks in sheetrock, etc. A qualified foundation repair contractor or a structural engineer can help you determine if the problems you are faced with are cosmetic or will require foundation repair.
An owner or member of our management staff will visit your home in person, do a meticulous inspection, and advise what needs to be done or not done for your home foundation repair.
Atlas is capable of handling all your structural issues, eliminating the need to deal with multiple contractors. We impart two time-tested repair methods-pressed pilings and deep-drilled concrete piers. Our other services comprise mud-jacking, drainage swales and French drains.
Installing Piers
Our home foundation repair crew will find the pipes and electric wires in and around your home. The plants will be moved carefully from the areas where piers are to be drilled. This is when the drilling the piers process can start. A small amount of dirt will be kept to do the back filling where necessary as the piers are drilled. Then all the extra dirt is hauled off and the concrete is poured in all piers.
The Raising Process
After the concrete goes through the curing process for roughly seven days, jacks are placed on the piers. All excess mortar and caulking are removed to permit the bricks to return to their original positions. A six-inch diameter 5000-PSI concrete block is placed on the pier to support the foundation. Then the holes are backfilled and the mortar joints are repaired, windows caulked, and any concrete replaced. If there happens to be some damage to your sprinkler system we will repair it and your plants are replanted. All areas are then washed or swept.
Drainage
In some cases poor drainage can contribute to foundation movement. This can be corrected by re-grading the yard surface with a swale. In some cases trench drains are used to remove underground seepage, and surface drains are used to remove water.
Engineering
Atlas Foundation does not have a structural engineer on staff. We feel this is a conflict of interest, and can provide engineering services through several independent engineers. Atlas offers two types of piers to meet most engineers' specifications
Plumbing
A licensed plumber performs all plumbing tests, which are conducted on the water and sewer lines under the foundation. The water supply is pressure tested and hydrostatic tests are conducted on the sewer lines. A cleanout must be located and one toilet removed for this test.
