The Repair Process for Drilled Piers

Installing Piers
Atlas Foundation employees will locate pipes and electric wires. Plants will be relocated from the areas where piers are to be drilled. At this point, the process of drilling the piers can begin. As the piers are drilled, a small amount of dirt will be kept to do the back filling where necessary. All excess dirt will be hauled off. Access to water and electricity will be necessary, but access to the inside of the house will not. Concrete will be poured in all piers.

The Raising Process
After the concrete has cured for approximately seven days, jacks will be placed on the piers. Excess or added mortar and caulking will be removed to allow the bricks to return to their original positions. Elevations will be taken before, during and after the lifting process. A 6" diameter 5000 PSI concrete block, shimmed with metal plates, is placed on the pier to support the foundation. The holes are then backfilled. The mortar joints are repaired, the windows caulked, any concrete replaced, any sprinkler system we damage is repaired and plants are replanted. All areas are then washed or swept. Access to the inside of the house is necessary during the raising process.
